Architects of MJÖLK covered a wooden structure in a white material, which was the home of an experimental workshop during the week. With their group they deisgned balloons, and they were experimenting to see which prototype is able to go up in the air by using hot air. The students had a lot of creative ideas while designing the prototypes. In the end they used a huge, diamond shaped balloon, which went towards the sky starting from the experimental tent of MJÖLK.
They came up with this concept many years ago at primary school history lessons. Exploratory voyage , inventors and astronauts were the first huge fascination for couple of small eared boys that forced them to think about the world in a visionary way. They were very interested in the history of the early aeronauts - brothers Mongolfiere and even then the concept of The Clouds was slowly borned. So they have designed hot air balloons in the shape of storm clouds for The Hallo Wood 2014.
The construction of the installation is formed by thin wooden profiles which are calculated according to a proposed geometry and bonded into its final shape and coated with thin paper. Clouds will " rise " by the heat from some gas cookers with light adapters. After crossing the threshold temperature, the construction will become lighter than the surrounding air, the clouds will begin to levitate anchored to a stable height above the heads of surprised participants of the workshop. Balance is a mathematical equation with a question mark at the end, a fine line between fire and applause.
Mjölks came from the Milky Way to our planet many years ago. Since that time they are systematically trying to colonize the planet Earth. Colonization doesn´t take considerations and some prints of Mjölk´s civilization are clearly visible. Our main diet is the pleasure of good architecture and design and this is why we chose your planet . Relatively undeveloped civilization has great potential to become an aesthetic and tasty donut... but still we have lots of work ahead, but our perseverance is endless ... At the end of July we are going to attack Hungary. Flying clouds will be a beacon of beauty in the sea cucumber summer season. Yummy!
Jan Mach is an only child from Ukraine and he likes meeting new people in nightclubs . He is honest, kind and has a good-hearted nature. Jan has a sense of humor and artistic creativity . This young boy is spending a lot of time with thinking, but instead of philosophizing, rather observing his surroundings.
In the early post-pubertal age he was blindly interested in the complicated wooden structures, but now he has become a universal soldier. Lookout tower, apartment, or train - there is nothing what he couldn´t design.
In recent years he became a member of several sporting clubs to put his limp body back into shape.
He randomly trains long-distance run, kickbox and hardening. Jan has six books at home, but he has read only two of them.
Jan Vondrák's family came from Pribram, a town of uranium, situated in Central Bohemia. He prefers champagne and smoked salmon in the morning. Jan is a naive idealist and the only goal in his life is to do what he likes.
His architectural star has risen after he stopped working in the Czech television, where half of the year he counted bulbs. Project Hello Wood is a big challenge for Jan, because the theme of wooden buildings is part of his life. In his short life time he managed to build two buildings, one rot and the other one burned down.
He was five times champion walking on the bottom of the pool, the sport that he has invented probably because of walking the Earth's gravity is not really easy for him.
