"ED and ACT"
DIY Educational and ACTivity Spaces for Everybody
Workshop by Komlósi Bence (Architecture for Refugees) and Nicolas Ziesel (KOZ architectes)
About the Project:
“Living with people who DIFFER - racially, ethnically, religiously or economically - is one of the most urgent CHALLENGES facing civil society today. TOGETHER argues that COOPERATION needs more than good will: it is a CRAFT that requires SKILL. In modern society traditional bonds are waning, and we must develop new forms of secular, civic ritual that make us more skilful in living with borders. From medieval guilds to today’s social networks, Richard Sennett’s visionary book explores the nature of COOPERATION, why it has become weak and how it can be strengthened.“
Together, Richard Sennett
We believe that to achieve a REAL COMMUNITY we have to work TOGETHER. “Newcomers” and “established residents” have to get to know each other and they have to start collaborating for a better and common future. EDUCATION and ACTIVITIES bring different people together.
Bence Komlósi, co-founder Architecture for Refugees
Architecture for Refugees aims to offer better architectural and urban planning solutions to increase the life quality of refugees on a global scale. We aim to sensitise and encourage passive architects, urban planners and support the knowledge transfer between the active participants. We collect and share information about the architectural and urban planning aspects of the refugee crisis.
